The laptop features a big screen which will be a delight for game lovers. The PC is very stunning, and the sound is very pleasing to the ear. HP fulfilled its promise by producing the HP Envy x360 in both Intel and AMD processors.
The HP Envy is a PC its competitors will honestly envy because of its top-notch processors. Its 15.6-inch display is a big attraction for graphic designers. The PC is very convertible. Switching it to a tablet is very captivating. The battery is okay too. The PC has a beautiful aesthetic design, and its 15.6-inch display is super. The HP Envy comes with a touchscreen that makes interaction with the PC very easy.
Design
Flagship Envy x360 is sexy when designing; the HP Envy is in two versions – AMD and Intel. The Intel design comes in silver, while AMD is designed in sexy black. The AMD design stands out from the crowd. The Intel version is very decent too. They are both very convertible. The hinges are strong to the extent that you can turn the PC 360 degrees with ease.
Flagship Envy x360 comes with an IPS LCD touchscreen. The touchscreen is very responsive, even with a very light touch. The touchscreen will be a delight for those who are not used to using the mouse. HP has advanced in technology over the years; the HP Envy is evidence of that fact. It comes with one terabyte of HDD space. That is massive! One terabyte of space will serve you for a long time to come, even if you are a heavy user.
Flagship Envy x360 also has an HDMI port, alongside a head jack port, not forgetting the SD Memory card port. The Intel version has two models – Corei5 – 8250Uand Corei7 – 8550U. The HP Envy is made with excellence in mind. The screen is glossy, thereby giving you immersing pictures. The hinges roll very freely. It has a camera for facial recognition. That is spot on. The Bang and Olufsen audio speakers bring out lovely sounds.
The shiny HP logo at the center of the lid looks so attractive, while the lovely shape of the chassis makes the PC very enticing. The lid is made of aluminum. That makes the HP Envy x360 very fanciful and catchy.
Audio
Flagship Envy x360 speakers have a delightful sound that is very nice to the ear. The Bang and Olufsen audio wizard is a good introduction by HP. When we tested the audio with Michael Jackson’s Liberian Girl, the beats were superb. We tested the audio by making a Facebook call, and it sounds okay.
Game and Graphics
Whether it is the AMD Radeon Vega 8 GPU or the Intel Integrated UHD Graphic 620 GPU versions, you are going to enjoy your gaming and graphics thoroughly. It was fun galore when we tested the two versions. The two versions produced the same result. The games played very smoothly without any interruptions after a 2-hour test. The performance of the two versions was very satisfactory. There are no doubt children will love the HP Envy x360 when it comes to gaming.
Display
Flagship Envy x360 pictures are crystal sharp with its 15.6 display. The display is very vibrant. The show is very calm and bright. It will take a long time to have another 4k screen display laptop for the price the HP Envy is sold for. It has a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. When watching a movie on the PC, the pictures are vivacious, like you are watching a movie at the cinema. You can’t help but fall in love with the HP Envy because it is very colorful, and the brightness is so excellent. When we put both versions to the test, the Intel has a better display; but the difference is not too noticeable.
Keyboard and keypad
Flagship Envy x360 has a backlit keyboard similar to the HP Spectre. The keyboard is extra-soft. You will love the keyboard. The keyboard makes for a memorable typing experience. The touchpad is 4.7×2.3 inches in size. The input experience of the touchpad is ecstatic. The feeling you get with each click on the touchpad is very lovely. HP has taught its competitors a big lesson with the HP Envy keyboard. Typing should be pleasurable and memorable, not long-suffering that hurts your fingers.
Performance
Flagship Envy x360 performance is so excellent. The HP Envy is a smooth rider. It was made with speed in mind. The AMD has 8GB RAM while the Intel versions have 16GB and 8GB, respectively, as mentioned earlier. When it comes to the processor, the PC is fitted with AMD Ryzen 5 2500 CPU, while the Intel versions have Corei5 – 8250Uand Corei7 – 8550U. They both have one terabyte SATA HDD. When we tested them for performance, it took the AMD 4 minutes 12 seconds to copy a 4.5GB file, which took Intel 3 minutes 45 seconds to copy. Another test took the Corei7 – 8550U 15 seconds to open the Microsoft Word application, while it took AMD 25 seconds. Performance-wise, the two versions can withstand longer endurance because they are both very rugged.
With 16GB DDR4 for the Corei7 and 8GB DDR4 for Corei5 Intel versions, PC speed is well covered. The AMD version has 8GB with Ryzen 5 2500U processor.
Battery
The Flagship Envy x360 battery is very decent. The battery lasted 5 hours on continuous use with the Intel version, while the AMD lasted 6 hours. If you are a heavy user, you can get an extra battery. With an extra battery, you are sure of between 10 to 11 hours of usage.
PC Heat
Flagship Envy x360 did not heat up during our test. Both versions were put through rigorous tests for 5 hours, but the PC was excellent throughout the testing. Credit goes to HP in this regard. The cooling fan did a great job in this sense. We were amazed that AMD passed this test too. We have always believed that every AMD processor will always get hot after 30 minutes, but this one put us all wrong. It means AMD has improved.
Port
Flagship Envy x360 comes with two USB connectors, with also two USB-C ports. You can find one on each side. There is also the audio jack which measures 3.5mm, not forgetting a Micro SD card slot. Like every other USB-C port, you can also use the HP Envy USB-C ports to charge phones and transfer data.

We can confidently tell you that after putting both to the test, they passed well. Even the Corei5 with 8GB RAM Intel version did not do badly at all. One terabyte for both versions is a considerable largesse for users. Both have 1.8GHz, 256GB SDD. This configuration is well suited for gamers and graphic designers.

AMD Processor – Ryzen 5 2500U
Flagship Envy x360 with the AMD processor challenged Intel with their Ryzen 5 2500U. Ryzen is the first AMD processor to be used on a laptop, and HP made that possible with the HP Envy. When HP promised to produce its latest HP Envy x360 in Intel and AMD processors, no one knew AMD would give Intel a run for their money. Intel had been in command for a long time until AMD introduced the Ryzen 5 2500U. The Ryzen 5 2500U processor from AMD was very successful when it was first used on the Desktop in 2017. Since then, it has been forward ever for AMD. The Ryzen 5 2500U processor competed so well with the Core i7 in every aspect. Even AMD graphics Radeon RX Vega 8 also stood up to Intel’s UHD Graphics 620.

Using AMD’s graphics Radeon RX Vega, 8 was another risk that paid off. AMD is better for it because other PC manufacturers will now queue for AMD Ryzen 5 2500U. HP trusted Intel with the new Core i7 – 8550U. By using Intel’s 8th generation processor, it means HP is a company that loves innovation.
